"Over the last ten years, Praxis has been updated over 30 times, each time becoming faster, smarter, and more conversant with the way I practice Internal Medicine."
In 1998, my decision was one of an early adopter. In an effort to improve documentation for my practice, I researched the nascent field of EMR and was attracted to Praxis firstly because of its designs and features that were well ahead of its competitors and the time, and secondly, because that it was developed by an enthusiastic physician with a sense of the time constraints of private practice as well as its needs. By 2008, EMRs are gradually becoming a standard of care, if not law. Posed with the same decision now, I would undoubtedly chose Praxis.
"Beyond its conception in the mind of a physician, its [Praxis’] growth has been fostered by the Praxis community of physicians who readily support their “offspring” by a constant feedback on modifications and improvements."
Ten years ago, Praxis clearly offered the best support, greatest versatility and deepest fluency with the nuances of patient care. But it also had the necessary room to grow. Beyond its conception in the mind of a physician, its growth has been fostered by the Praxis community of physicians who readily support their “offspring” by a constant feedback of modifications and improvements. Over the last ten years, Praxis has been updated over 30 times, each time becoming faster, smarter, and more conversant with the way I practice Internal Medicine.
"As a former juror for a major EMR certifying agency, I have been impressed with the fluency of the…my IT friends are impressed with speed and versatility of 3.5 compared to other hospital based, system passed and private practice based software."
As a former juror for a major EMR certifying agency, I have been impressed with the fluency of the software in comparison to the other products available in the field. Moreover, my IT friends are impressed with speed an versatility of 3.5 compared to other hospital based, system passed and private practice based software. I am sure that version 4.0, complete with the Knowledge Exchanger that provides access to knowledge bases of other Internal Medicine experts using Praxis, will completely blow me away!
"If you are unwise enough to scribble a few notes on a paper chart, or fill out a template-based EMR, both patient care and your bottom line suffers."
All visits are automated by a workstation in every exam room at my practice, either hard wired or wirelessly connected to the server. My entire office is completely up to date, every time, all the time. And Praxis just gets better - E/M Coding is crucial in terms of reimbursement for our actual mental time and physical effort involved. If you are unwise enough to scribble a few notes on a paper chart or fill out a template based EMR, both patient care and your bottom line suffers. With printed or faxed prescriptions there is no chance my work is illegible. Moreover, patients upon leaving the office are able to actually read the prescriptions, no time lag whatsoever.
"3 years ago I received a Medicare audit because of a high percentage of "5" codes. Upon random sampling of my twenty records they left convinced. I also participate in phase III drug trials with documentation served by Praxis fulfilling all of the demands placed upon these trials by the FDA".
Approximately 3 years ago I received a Medicare audit because of a high percentage of “5” codes. Upon random sampling of my twenty records, each with four pages of documentation, they left convinced. I participate in phase III drug trials with documentation served by Praxis fulfilling all of the demands placed upon these trials by the FDA as well as by clinical research organizations.
Each and every single patient that comes into my clinic is reviewed in more detail. I have a huge Medicare aged population. It is uncommon for a visit to include less than 3 major organ systems. During Flu season, when visit numbers rise, a note is generated rapidly with time invested in patient contact increase.
"It took me less than one month in 1998 to fully recover my investment on Praxis, and I would imagine less than two months now. My revenue has increased by 15%".
It took me less than one month in 1998 to fully recover my investment on Praxis, and I would imagine less than two months now. My revenue has increased by 15%. Additionally, Praxis tech support is rapidly ready to handle any challenges I may have with the interlocution of different hardware or software items, which only cuts down on my servicing costs even further.
The Praxis community of physicians is an integral part to the development of the software that is backed up by a superb rapid response support team and wonderful trainers who have a working knowledge of a physician’s office. Over the last ten years, I have seen Praxis evolve into an ever more powerful tool. I could not envision practicing without it. Praxis is better than my stethoscope it is indeed both my right and left arms.
