Announcement 11 January 2009
Dr. Clayton L. Reynolds has launched an online subscription-based DIAGNOSTICS Program. If you have a problem involving the diagnosis of a case, you can log onto his website www.reynoldsmedicine.com , click on Diagnostics and follow the instructions. You will be directed to PayPal, where, after payment of the annual subscription fee, you will be emailed your login information and instructions. Using a message board approach, you will enter the relevant aspects of the case and send it to Dr. Reynolds, who will reply promptly with recommendations for diagnostic testing. After the test results have been reported, you will enter them on the Message Board and transmit them to him for analysis. The process will continue until a diagnosis has been reached, to the degree to which that appears possible.
Dr Reynolds graduated from McGill University, Montreal with the Campbell-Howard Prize in Clinical Medicine. His life-long interest in the diagnostic process led him to offer this service to physicians and patients who want online, case-specific diagnostic advice.
Clay is well known to the Praxis community as its first beta tester and content developer. In addition to his Diagnostics service, he is at work on constructing practice guidelines as Agents within Praxis and embedding textbook material into Praxis.
Despite numerous warnings in our manuals and end user agreements, every year a few Praxis users lose their medical records due to inadequate or improper backup procedures. Several other users lose days or weeks of charting for the same reason. The backup systems available today are not only excellent but are also inexpensive. By placing this note here, we hope that you will go to the Technical Manual and read how to perform back ups adequately, which is not a difficult task.
The common thread in all the cases of lost medical records has been that the doctor had "DELEGATED" backup procedures to a staff person or to an outside "expert" and then never gave it a second thought. Please do not do this. We recommend that you understand and periodically review your office's backup procedures.
As always, our Support Group stands ready to advise and inspect your procedures regarding backups. Remember, these are NOT paper records!
