Dear Praxis VIP Clients,
I am extremely happy to inform you that Praxis has just opened an online discussion forum designed with you in mind, the Praxis user community.
This new Praxis forum is located at www.praxisonline.us, and we want you, our VIP clients, to be the first to benefit from it. The forum will soon be open to all Praxis users, and eventually to all qualified medical providers. At this time, it is ‘in beta’, waiting for you, our early adopters, to spark it into life with your intelligent discussions. We ask that you do not publicize the forum until it is opened to the general public.
To register please click here, follow the registration process, and we will email your username and password to you. There will also be a link from the client ‘build’ section of the Praxis website for your direct access. We want you, our VIP users, to enter the forum first, to allow you to renew old friendships in a welcoming environment, as we know many of you have met each other online before, in POL, EMRUpdate, and other sites.
Additionally, I am starting an EMR Blog linked to the forums, where my views on the world of EMR and Health IT (but NOT Praxis) will be posted to be read by the general public, and to be discussed by you and ONLY other qualified medical providers back at PraxisOnLine. I hope these discussions on the future of Electronic Medical Records will serve the entire medical community, and act as a catalyst for meaningful discussion throughout the industry. I know that our clients are some of the smartest, tech savvy physicians around, and so I have a strong feeling that your combined intellect will attract debate from across the medical community.
Here are the simple PraxisOnLine forum guidelines:
1. For now, only Praxis clients will be allowed to post in these forums.
2. Praxis VIP clients will help to moderate the forum - all of you are welcome to volunteer.
3. At the moment, you will see four different discussion areas available for posting of topics:
A: General EMR Discussion. Insurance companies have plans for your
EMR. It is high time for medical providers to get together and discuss such issues openly for other providers to read. This happened in the times of POL, but current websites like EMRUpdate are open to non-providers, making it difficult to maintain a collegiate, intelligent discussion. This area is also for the discussion of my blog topics, which will be linked directly into this forum. We hope that many doctors will use this site to educate your colleagues and expose any issues that are currently hidden from view. This forum area will soon be opened for the entire world to see, but only the Praxis community and other qualified medical providers will be able to post.B: Questions about Praxis. Exactly as the title says! Ask your question and have fellow users and/or Praxis staff answer. When the general medical community is invited, Praxis users will be able to answer their questions as well.
C: Praxis Ideas. Here you can suggest hints and tips for using Praxis EMR, share Praxis knowledge, and talk constructively about ideas for improving the software. Problems with Praxis should not be discussed in this area (please read the next section). Eventually, this area will be opened for public viewing, but only Praxis clients will be able to post.
D: Praxis Client Portal. This portal will ALWAYS be restricted to the Praxis user community. It is for discussion of system issues and problems. Also post in this forum questions or suggestions about the running of the forum for the attention of the PraxisOnLine forum admin team. Again, no one outside of the Praxis community will have access: here you can let it all hang out!
It is very simple: a superior product like Praxis has attracted superior clients like you. When you post you ideas, this becomes self-evident, as we have seen in other discussion group sites. Thus, we can now start our own, and we believe strongly it will float on it own merits. It is our strong hope that these forums will become not only an excellent community for Praxis EMR users, but also a useful resource for all medical providers. First, we need your help to ‘prime the pump’, so that new users don’t feel lost. We also look forward to your suggestions on ways to improve the new forum, before it goes live to other clients, and later to the world. Any contributions that you make will be, as ever, greatly appreciated.
Very best regards,
Richard Low, MD
