Yale International Bulldogs Internship with Infor-Med

Each year, Yale University and the Yale Alumni Association in Buenos Aires, of which Infor-Med CEO Dr. Richard Low is a member, sponsor a two-month internship for Yale undergraduates in Argentina. This highly competitive International Bulldogs Program gives students invaluable international work experience. Participants have a unique opportunity to enrich their intellectual, cultural and political understanding of today’s undeniably globalized world.

Infor-Med hosts a Yale intern in our Buenos Aires offices every June through July. Based upon the student’s interest, they have the opportunity to work with all aspects of Praxis EMR, from software development to sales and marketing. They also interact and build relationships with our young, creative and talented staff, as well as our Praxis EMR physicians and clients. Each year, we look forward to welcoming a Yale intern to the Praxis family.

2010 Infor-Med Intern: Sam Helfaer

Sam Helfaer joined our Sales and Marketing Division between his sophomore and junior years at Yale. Sam, a Biochemistry and Economics major, described his time in Argentina as "incredible" and "amazing." During his internship, he explored the communication divide between doctors and administrators. "Doctors talk about clinical performance, patients, diseases, and symptoms. Administrators talk about billing, insurance, efficiency, reimbursement, and profit," observed Sam. While at Praxis, he worked on a marketing pitch that would appeal to both doctors and administrators. Sam interviewed doctors for testimonials, communicated with the then-emerging Regional Extension Centers, and wrote a piece on how medical quality and long-term profitability are inextricably linked. Without a doubt, Sam will be immensely successful in his career. He is a man of vision with a great future as an entrepreneur.

2009 Infor-Med Intern: Chris Riederer

Praxis EMR hosted Chris Riederer, who had just completed his third year at Yale University. A computer science major, Chris was delighted to see the unique and effective approach that Praxis took in developing software. Working in multiple areas, Chris was exposed to the interesting and fast-paced world of marketing in a entrepreneurial international software company. His coworkers quickly became not only guides to the workplace, but also to the world of Buenos Aires as well. Chris was impressed with the accessibility and willingness to hear his ideas that the leadership in the company displayed, and hopes to work at a company with as much energy and vitality as Praxis in the future!

2008 Infor-Med Intern: Amandla Ooko-Ombaka

Infor-Med was delighted to have Amandla Ooko-Ombaka, currently in her third year at Yale, join our Sales and Marketing division. She immediately picked up several ongoing projects in addition to developing a number of her own under the guidance of our VP of Sales and Marketing. We were consistently impressed with Amandla's creativity and diligence as we supported her professional development. She assured us that she had a phenomenal time" working with us and that when she returns to Buenos Aires, it could be to work with us again.

2007 Infor-Med Intern: Edgar Perez

Infor-Med had the pleasure of hosting Edgar Perez as our Yale intern in 2007. Here he learned to work in an international, entrepreneurial company where your involvement goes as far as your imagination will take you. Apart from benefiting from an enriching and empowering professional experience, Edgar found that he had "perhaps the most attentive boss in the entire Yale Bulldogs program." After witnessing his outstanding performance, we look forward to Edgar's return after graduation for a full-time position with our company.
